High-ranking officials from Transport Malta are reportedly involved in a corruption scheme where they purportedly waive maritime fines in exchange for money from boat operators. Multiple sources within the transport authority, who requested anonymity to discuss internal affairs, informed MaltaToday that at least three individuals within the Maritime Enforcement Unit (MEU) are suspected of manipulating maritime fines.
