Bank raises concern on Abelas bank accounts – report
An internal examination of Robert and Lydia Abela’s accounts by the Bank of Valletta detected concerns regarding potentially “suspicious” transactions amounting to €1 million. This scrutiny took place shortly after Abela assumed the position of prime minister in January 2020. A spokesperson for Abela dismissed the review, stating that it makes “ridiculous and maliciously false assertions,” suggesting that the report was intended to be leaked and misinterpreted. The review brought attention to several transactions deemed “suspicious,” including three payments totaling €640,000 that Abela, then a Labour MP, made to his wife between 2017 and 2019. On Sunday, PN leader Bernard Grech said this report shows my PM Robert Abela was so much against the introduction of unexplained wealth orders. (Times of Malta)

PM says PN cannot be trusted to lead country

Prime Minister Robert Abela said the country cannot place trust in someone to lead when they exhibit an inability to manage their own finances.Highlighting the financial management of the Nationalist Party. “They cannot even manage their own finances… The electoral commission has been pursuing them for two years to disclose their accounts”, Abela siad. The Prime Minister’s comments were prompted by recent court proceedings where the Electoral Commission confirmed that the PN ignored five letters requesting the publication of public accounts and a list of donors. Four teens charged with violent thefts

Four adolescent boys have been arrested and charged in connection with a string of violent thefts specifically aimed at taxi drivers.Among them, two individuals are 14 years old, and the remaining two are aged 16 and 17. They come from Cospicua, Senglea, Marsaskala, and Żabbar The accused appeared in court before Magistrate Victor Axiak, where three of them entered pleas of not guilty. However, the fourth individual, a 14-year-old, admitted guilt and was subsequently released on bail, awaiting sentencing. (Newsbook)
