Malta: Pandemic is a €3 billion blow to tourism sector

The Times quotes a government adviser who said that the economic effects of the coronavirus on the tourism sector could grow to as much as €3 billion. The unnamed consultant said that recovery of the sector is likely to take long.

Another report quotes a report by the National Auditor’s Office that questions a “false sense of urgency” by the government to transfer the ITS site in Pembroke. The NAO says that handing over the land appeared a greater priority than relocating the institute.
