Malta: Trust in Robert Abela dips below 40 percent – UPDATE

Malta Today reports that Prime Minister Robert Abela’s trust ratings dropped to 39.8 percent in March, the first time the leader of the Labour Party fell below the 40 percent mark since the monthly surveys started in 2017.

According to the survey, Abela loses almost two points since last month’s survey at a time when the country is battling a surge in coronavirus infections.

Taking into account the actual performance of the political parties in the last general election as a starting point and using the survey results on how people voted back then and how they will vote now, shows the PL ahead with just under 23,000 votes. In the 2017 general election, the PL surpassed the PN by 35,280 votes. Read more here

Another story says that the government is planning to introduce a single Act to regularise hunting and capturing of wild birds, shifting responsibility for wildlife protection from the Environment Ministry to that for hunting, currently held by Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri.
