Munich Olympics massacre survivor says Corbyn is an anti-Semite

The Telegraph carries an interview with an Israeli athlete who survived the Munich Olympics massacre. The athlete has accused Jeremy Corbyn of being an anti-Semite and told him he should “disappear from the political scene”.

Prof Shaul Ladany, who competed as a race walker at the 1972 Games, claimed the Labour leader’s visit to the graves of four men linked to the terrorist attack implied that he “admires” them.

Six members of Britain’s 1972 Olympics team, some of whom witnessed the attack, also described Mr Corbyn as “despicable” and “not fit to lead”.

Mr Corbyn has strenuously denied being anti-Semitic and has insisted he did not lay a wreath on the graves of those widely acknowledged to have been behind the Black September group that murdered 11 Israeli athletes and coaches.

In an interview with the Telegraph, Prof Ladany, 82, who survived Bergen-Belsen as a boy, said he had been “really upset” by photographs of Mr Corbyn attending the wreath-laying ceremony in Tunisia in 2014.
