Donald Trump criticised allies for not supporting US efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, saying countries affected by rising fuel prices should “get your own oil” and learn to defend themselves without US help. He also urged them to buy American jet fuel.
His remarks came as US gas prices surpassed $4 per gallon for the first time since 2022, amid a global surge in fuel costs.
At the same time, Iran launched missiles across the region in response to Israeli strikes on Tehran. Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel has achieved over half of its military objectives, as exchanges continued with explosions reported in Tehran and sirens sounding in Jerusalem.
