A caricature which appeared on the cover of Time magazine in April 1973 is on display at the ‘Watergate: Portraiture and Intrigue‘ exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC, USA.

The exhibition presents illustrations from the 50th anniversary of the Watergate scandal that resulted in the resignation of former US President Richard Nixon.

The scandal stemmed from the Nixon administration’s continual attempts to cover up its involvement in the June 17, 1972, break-in of the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Washington, D.C., Watergate Office Building.
