Photo Story: Re-enactment in the Czech Republic of Lord of the Rings battle

Participants dressed as characters from Middle-earth created by J. R. R. Tolkien take part in the re-enactment of the ‘The Battle of Erebor’ in Terezin, Czech Republic, 08 February 2020 (issued 09 February 2020).

About 160 fantasy enthusiasts re-enacted ‘The Battle of Erebor’ as a fantasy contact fight inspired by the battle in Tolkien’s book ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.’

The battle aimed at players who like a powerful story, big clashes between armies, action quests and living fantasy.

The re-enacted battle in Terezin saw factions of Men, Erebor dwarves, Sauron’s Orcs and Easterlings based on English writer John Ronald Reuel Tolkien’s ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’ book which was for the first time published in 1955.
