Photo Story: Rijksmuseum resumes research and restoration of The Night Watch

Restorers at work in front of Rembrandt van Rijn’s ‘The Night Watch’ at the Rijksmuseum (National Museum) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The restoration of Rembrandt’s famous painting, dating from 1642, has resumed this week after it was put on hold due to the ongoing pandemic of the COVID-19 disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Only two researchers can work on the masterpiece at the same time due to new safety measures.
