Photo Story: The traditional ‘Kumoterska Gonba’ horse races in Poland

Riders on their horses compete in the races within the ‘Kumoterska Gonba’ traditional skiing race at the XXVI Highlander Parade in the village of Male Ciche, near Zakopane in the Polish Tatra Mountains, on Sunday 19 January 2020.

The participants compete in various disciplines such as sleigh racing, ski-skirling with ridden horses, or skirling, in which a competitor on skis is pulled on long reins by a galloping horse.
