Premises evacuated after second bomb threat in Guardamangia building in one week

On Thursday evening, police closed off an area in Guardamangia and kept people at a safe distance, following a police report about a van parked in the parking lot of St. Luke’s Hospital suspected of containing explosives.

Residents and gaming company employees in the area were asked to come out of their building and are being held in Guardamangia Hill, pending searches in the area, to make sure there is no danger.

The searches are being carried out by members of the explosive unit of the Armed Forces.

Sources told Television Malta that this is the second a bomb threat to take place in the last eight days in the same place.

The situation is being monitored by the District Police and Rapid Intervention Unit. Searches have proved negative.
