The property which was given to the Malta Food Bank Foundation for a definite period of time was previously used by Dar Fra Diegu as a food store. Judge Toni Abela has been elected president of the Association for Judges and Magistrates by his peers.Abela takes over from Judge Joe Zammit McKeon. The association that represents the interests of the judiciary held its annual general meeting today. Judges and magistrates elected a new committee for the next two years. Vacant spaces in primary schools could be used as day and night care centres for the elderly, a public consultation document on the Cottonera area proposed. A survey among Cottonera residents found many lamented they had to leave their locality to access health care services and elderly care facilities. The Armed Forces were called out on a rescue operation at L-Aħrax tal-Mellieħa this afternoon.
