Spain’s May jobless falls 1.77% from April to 2.74 mln

June 2 (Reuters) – The number of people registering as jobless in Spain fell by 1.77% in May from a month earlier, or by 49,260, leaving a total of 2.74 million people out of work, data from the Labour Ministry showed on Friday.

The total unemployment figure in May is the lowest for a month of May since 2008, when it was 2.35 million people.

Spain gained 47,883 net formal jobs in May to 20.71 million jobs, a separate report from the Social Security Ministry said.
