Syria on the agenda as Putin meets Russia’s security council today and Erdogan on Monday

President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in Syria’s rebel-held Idlib with members of Russia’s Security Council on Friday, the RIA news agency cited the Kremlin as saying.

The meeting was held within the context of another important meeting between Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Putin in the Russian city of Sochi on Monday, sources said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlu Cavusoglu said earlier that Erdogan and Putin would hold talks on the crisis in Syria on Monday, but had not elaborated.
