Syria – Two British soldiers hit by missile in Isis attack a month after Trump said IS was defeated

Two British soldiers have reportedly been seriously wounded in Syria after being hit by a missile in an Isis attack The Independent.

The two soldiers are believed to be part of the army’s special forces inside the war-torn country.

The Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said on Saturday evening that two British soldiers were injured in an attack near the town of Deir Ezzor.

They were reportedly evacuated by US forces on Saturday morning. A Kurdish fighter is thought to have been killed.

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: “We do not comment on special forces.”

In December, US President Donald Trump announced he was withdrawing troops from Syria and claimed the IS group had been “defeated”.
