Syrian warplane targeted by Turkish forces in Idlib

A Syrian government warplane was targeted by Turkish forces in Idlib on Tuesday, state news agency SANA reported.

Syrian warplane was hit by a missile fired by Turkish regime’s air force as it was downed in the area, northwest of Ma’aret al-Nu’aman, the agency reported.

Turkey launched a military offensive last week in northwest Syria to push back government forces looking to re-take the rebel stronghold.

Meanwhile Syrian Arab Army units eliminated Turkish regime-backed terrorist groups in villages and towns of Joubas, Trinbeh, Dadikh, and Kafr Batikh in Saraqeb area in Idleb southeastern countryside.

The agency said  “over the past hours, army units carried out intensive operations with artillery and missile weapons against Turkish-backed terrorist groups who were supported by fire and military from the Turkish regime on the western and southwestern direction of Saraqeb city and eliminated  them from the villages and towns of Joubas, Trinbeh, Dadikh, and Kafr Batikh, west of the Aleppo- Damascus International Highway, which the terrorists had entered with direct support and a cover fire by the Turkish regime forces”.

It added “the army operations also resulted in the elimination of many terrorists, most of them are foreign mercenaries, and the destruction of their equipment and advanced vehicles which are provided by the army of Turkish regime, explaining that the army units continue their intensive military operations on all axes.

In Idlib southern countryside, army carried out concentrated strikes on terrorist groups ’gatherings in the direction of Kansafra and Jabal Zawyia area, inflicting losses on them in the personnel and equipment.

Yesterday morning, army units entered Saraqeb strategic city in Idleb southeastern countryside on Aleppo-Damascus International Highway after eliminating the Turkish regime-backed terrorist groups in the city.
