Britain has enjoyed the hottest day of the year so far, as temperatures reached 29.4C in St James’s Park, London.
Parts of the UK will be as hot as southern Spain when the mercury peaks at over 30C (88F) possibly as early as tomorrow.
The heatwave is expected to last until Saturday and forecasters expect temperatures to hit record levels again before then.
