The UN stresses its commitment to prevent illegal export of Libyan oil

The chairman of the UN Security Council’s Sanctions Committee on Libya Olof Skoog emphasized during his meeting with Mustafa Sanallah Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) the UN’s commitment to prevent any illegal export of Libyan oil and refined products.

The Libya Observer writes that his “Sanallah called on the international community and the United Nations to prosecute anyone who attempts to extort the oil sector, exploit it, or exclude it from the political process in Libya.

Sanallah stressed the need to make more efforts to dissociate the oil sector from the political and regional quotas in Libya and to keep it away from those who seek “selfish interests and ambitions” as he put it.”
