It was a tragic weekend in Italy as 12 persons lost their life in various traffic accidents across the country.
Among them nine youths who lost their life in four separate accidents in Jesolo, Cesena and Genova. In Jesolo, three males and a female of the ages between 22 and 23 died after the vehicles they were in lost control and ended up in a canal by the side of the road. A girl who was with them managed to survive.
In Cesena another four youths died after the driver of the car lost control, hit a wall and ended up in a ditch on the side of the road.
Earlier in the week two young boys were killed in Sicily after being hit by a car while they were playing outside their homes in Vittoria.
In the meantime, early Monday morning, a 25-year-old waitress died after being run over by a car near the Sicilian town of Scicli near Ragusa. Martina Aprile had just finished working at the restaurant of Cava d’Aligna and was throwing away garbage in rubbish containers on the provincial road for Sampieri when she was hit and killed by a car driven by a young man.
