UK: Xuereb’s hammer attack victims still fighting for life

S&P Global worker Ania Gos, 30, was struck five times and is fighting for life along with her 64-year-old mother after both were brutally beaten in Eltham, southeast London on Sunday afternoon.

The Sun reports that the City worker lives just three doors away from suspect Joe Xuereb, 27, who has been arrested on suspicion of two attempted murders.

A former colleague, who previously worked with Ania at S&P Global, told The Sun Online: “She is a very nice, hard worker. I hope she can make a full recovery.”

S&P Global confirmed one of their workers had been attacked earlier today, saying: “We are extremely shocked and saddened by the senseless attack on one of our employees, Ania Gos, and her mother on Sunday afternoon.

“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to their family and friends as Ania and her mother remain in critical condition.
