A fire has destroyed a boat that was berthed in Kalkara this morning.
The boat was towed away so as to avoid other yachts catching fire. Another boat which was berthed close to the yacht is also believed to have been damaged in the fire
People in the area heard an explosion before the fire was seen.
Fire engines and ambulances have been deployed.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Earlier: A yacht berthed at the Kalkara marina near Bighi caught fire.
Media reports said that this was the result of an explosion.
