Scotland’s first minister to announce second independence referendum road map

Scotland’s first minister is to set out the road map to a second independence referendum on Wednesday despite strong opposition from the UK government.

Nicola Sturgeon will deliver a statement in the Scottish parliament laying out the “path forward for Scotland” amid the relentless Brexit uncertainty in Westminster, according to her spokesman.

Ms Sturgeon, who is leader of the Scottish National party, would “seek to strike an inclusive tone” in the “detailed and substantive” statement on Scotland’s constitutional future, he said.
