A new version of Fanta was launched in Italy, Fanta Aranciata Rossa Zero Zuccheri with “ Arancia Rossa di Sicilia IGP”, an soft drink with juice of Sicilian blood oranges, managed by the Consorzio di Tutela Arancia Tutela di Sicilia IGP in Sicily.
The Fanta family drink was presented this week at Tuttofood, the international fair dedicated to food and drink in Milan.
During the launch of the new drink, Giovanni Selvaggi, president of the Consorzio di Tutela Arancia Tutela di Sicilia IGP expressed his satisfaction adding that this is the first time a major international company has had the IGP Indicazione Geografica Protetta (Protected Geographical Indication) label for Sicilian blood oranges.
He added that there is hope that with this new product a much needed boost will be given to to this sector of agriculture in Sicily.
Cristina Broch, director for communications of Coca Cola, said that with this product the company went a step further then what the consumers asked for, with great value being given to the traceability of the product.
