BBC to move some of its TV channels to either Amsterdam or Brussels

If the United Kingdom leaves the European Union with no deal in place, the BBC will move some of its television channels to either Amsterdam or Brussels.

BBC director Tony Hall told the Commons Public Accounts Committee on Wednesday that no decision about the new destination has been made yet and that this was being made out of caution because of it’s market in the rest of Europe that the BBC wants to make sure it can continue running it’s channels there.

Hall stressed that there’s no decision, and the BBC is just waiting to see what happens over the next few months regarding Brexit.

If there is a no-deal Brexit, the BBC’s permits for broadcasting in other EU countries will no longer be valid, This is why the broadcasting company will move its commercial arm BBC Studios to another EU country, so that it can continue to broadcast in the EU.

BBC Studious includes the channels BBC First, BBC Earth, BBC Entertainment, and BBC America, among others.
