British Airways helps cancer patient fulfil wish of travelling over the equator

Laura Nuttall had just started university when a routine eye test discovered several brain tumours.

Soon after the diagnosis, the 19-year-old from Lancashire began creating a bucket list with her friends and family.

One of the items on her bucket list was that she travels over the equator.

Her wish came true, as British Airways flew Laura to Johannesburg on the trip of a lifetime, helping fulfil her bucket-list dream of travelling across the equator.

The Captain of the flight, Dave Wallsworth, couldn’t contain his fulfilment in helping Laura crossing off her bucket list wish of crossing the equator.

In a tweet, he posted, Laura is seen at 39000 feet with a cup of tea in hand.

Laura Nuttall thought she had symptoms of ‘fresher’s flu’ after suffering with headaches during her first term at King’s College University in London in October.

After being violently sick, the 19-year-old from Barrowford went to hospital with her parents and was diagnosed with two brain tumours, following a CT scan.

A second scan was completed a day later and and at least six terminal tumours were found.
