LovinMalta publishes documentation showing that the Fisheries Department had requested the police to prosecute the Maltese subsidiary of the Spanish company at the centre of a bribe scandal. Fisheries Director General Andreina Fenech Farrugia was suspended last after allegations that she took money from the company in exchange for larger fishing quotas.

A European Parliament committee voted overwhelmingly in favour of a resolution condemning lacking action against corruption and crime in Malta and Slovakia. The Shift News says that 40 of the 53 members in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice, and Home Affairs (LIBE) voted for the resolution.
