A quick glance at the main forthcoming events in the European Union including EU Council, Commission and Parliament meetings and other EU-related conferences and events. Events for the week of 22nd to 26th July 2019.
There are no meetings of the Council or European Council scheduled before the end of August.
Monday, 22 July, President Jean-Claude Juncker will be visiting Malta where he will meet Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, in Valletta.
European Parliament Committee Meetings in Brussels to prepare for the legislative work for the Parliament’s plenary, based on which it adopts legislative resolutions.
Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Commissioner Karmenu Vella receives Mr Jari Leppä, Minister for Agriculture and Forestry of Finland.
Migration and home affairs Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos travels to Paris, France to attend the informal meeting on migration in the Mediterranean.
Tuesday, 23 July, President Jean-Claude Juncker meets Mr George Vella, President of Malta, in Valletta, Malta and will be awarded an honorary membership of the National Order of Merit by the Maltese President.
Wednesday, 24 July, Meeting of the College of Commissioners. The Economic and Financial Affairs Council meets in Brussels. The ECOFIN Council meets every month and brings together economic and financial ministers from all EU Member States. It is responsible for economic policy, taxation issues and the regulation of financial services.
President Jean-Claude Juncker and Johannes Hahn meet Maia Sandu, Prime Minister of Moldova.
