The Times speaks to Malta Union of Teachers president Marco Bonnici after two violent incidents involving teachers reported this week. Bonnici said that teachers are now ‘apprehensive’ and that the authorities have been provided all the information.
The Malta Independent quotes Minister Konrad Mizzi who said that the St George’s Bay site is large enough for residents in the area not to feel the effects of the project by the Corinthia Group. He said the development would be phased over 25 years.

L-Orizzont quotes a report by the European Commission predicting a 5.2 percent growth in the economy this year, making it four times higher the average rate within the EU. The Commission describes Malta’s economy as one of the most dynamic.
L-Orizzont says that Child Protection within the Foundation for Social Wellbeing is following the case of an eight-year-old boy who was found in a state of neglect when the police raided a house in Birkirkara in January.
