It’s the first Sunday of the month, as warmer temperatures have started to grace the Maltese islands. The succession of low numbers related to new coronavirus cases in Malta, together with the announcement of a partial easing of restrictions as from tomorrow, has certainly pushed more people to fancy spending some time out. On this easing of restrictions, Government has yesterday issued the relevant Legal Notice and an Expainer. Read more on these here.
17 persons were fined €100 each during the continuous patrols that the Police are doing to ensure that there are no groups of more than 3 persons in public places. As from tomorrow, four persons will be allowed to congregate together.
Malta added just one new case yesterday, a Sudanese immigrant, taking the country’s tally to 468. Malta also registered 12 new recoveries, bringing the total to 397, meaning there are now 85 active cases.
We would like to remind you that the health authorities have launched an online symptom checker, available at https://covid19check.gov.mt/. More than 15,000 persons have tried it out in the first couple of days of operation.
