Malta: Air Malta qualifies for state aid

The Independent on Sunday quotes Economy Minister Silvio Schembri who said that the EU gave its approval to allow Malta to support the national airline directly, after relaxing state aid rules. Air Malta’s top management have already accepted pay cuts.

The paper sent questions to the Police Force and to the Minister responsible for hunting, Clint Camilleri, seeking confirmation that enforcement could be deployed if the Spring Season opens. Replies were not forthcoming by time of publication.
