Malta starts receiving license applications from blockchain operators: The Headlines – L-Orizzont

L-Orizzont says that 34 operators in the blockchain industry have submitted applications for a license in Malta. The paper quotes the CEO of a company in the fintech sector who said that, in the sphere of blockchain, ‘all roads lead to Malta’.

Another story in the paper says that almost 53,000 women entered the jobs market for the first time since 2013, while just over 10,000 returned after a gap of five years or more. The information was given to parliament by Education and Employment Minister Evarist Bartolo.

The daily also reports on two separate cases of attempts to traffic illegal items into prison, both caught by body scanners installed at the facility. In one case a man was caught carrying drugs in the lining of his jacket, the second one was found with a ring in his intestines.
