Malta’s sea claims another life

A dead man’s body was found off Malta’s western coast early on Sunday morning, following an Armed Forces of Malta helicopter search that began on Saturday.

The body is believed to be that of a man who ran into trouble while swimming in the Miġra l-Ferħa area of Rabat, The Times reports.

Newsbook reports that the search and rescue operation followed an initial attempt to save the man, who is thought to be foreign, by his Portuguese companion.

The Malta Independent reports that the search for the missing man was suspended overnight but continued on Sunday morning, when the corpse was spotted in the sea.
