The Independent reveals that the police first opened a file about internal overtime abuse in October but dragged their feet for two months before an investigation was launched. A whistleblower said that instructions from the top gave orders to ‘sit on the file’.

The paper asks MP Simon Busuttil whether he still believes claims that Egrant belongs to Joseph Muscat’s family. In the interview, the former Opposition Leader said that he still holds the suspicion because the inquiry failed to establish the ultimate owner.
