Polish Ambassador Claims Russian Public Fatigue Over War

Polish Radio quoted Ambassador Krzysztof Krajewski as saying Russian society is fatigued and that the war imposes “enormous costs” visible in price increases and the poor condition of banks.

Some military experts cited by the broadcaster say Russians have had enough, as the Kremlin expends major forces and resources without clear gains.

They argue that territory seized by Russian troops in the summer has been clawed back by Ukraine in early autumn, and that Ukrainian drone strikes are inflicting economic damage on Russia.

The ambassador echoed that assessment, linking public frustration to domestic price moves and financial-sector weakness.

The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) was also cited as saying it is increasingly difficult in Russia to “buy” volunteers to fight in Ukraine, with financial incentives no longer working as intended.

According to ISW’s assessment, President Vladimir Putin may be pushed either to announce a general mobilization or to enter peace negotiations.
