A tremor measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale this morning struck Crete and was even registered in Malta.
The tremor was felt as far away as Athens when it hit this morning.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said it was recorded at a depth of 56 kilometres between the islands of Crete and Kythera. So far there were no immediate reports of damage.
