Mayor of Ghat Municipality in Libya, Qumani Saleh said that Libyan Airlines will resume flights next week between airports of Mitiga and Ghat by two flights a week.

According to a report in the Libya Observer, Saleh pointed out that the step comes after conducting a number of meetings with officials of the Government of National Accord (GNA) following the cessation of flights since the start of the security crisis in Tripoli.

Khalifa Haftar’s militias had declared an air ban of civil aviation in the southern region, stressing that it will target any aircraft that does not respond to its instructions.
