“Despite attempts by members of the Department of Civil Protection, they were unable to remove the burnt oil from the water.”
This was stated by the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) after an unknown person spilt burnt oil in the protected Għadira ta’ Sarraflu. ERA explained that it asked the CPD, the Police, EcoGozo and various other entities to determine precisely the nature of the substance with which the pond was vandalized as well as what other remedies could be found to prevent the ecological impact in this area due to this act of vandalism.
