At least seven people have died and 19 are missing after a boat capsized on the Danube river in Hungary’s capital Budapest.

Thirty-three people, mostly tourists from South Korea, were on board the boat when it was hit by another vessel while moored. The boat that sank was identified as the “Hableany”, or Mermaid.

The incident occurred late Wednesday evening.Strong currents due to heavy rainfall are apparently making the rescue operations difficult, foreign news reports said.

The sunken boat was found near a bridge not far from the Hungarian parliament building. The boat was on a routine city sightseeing tour, according to news reports.
