The Headlines: The Times of Malta – Wednesday 12th June

The Times publishes conclusions of a study showing that toxic sulphur oxides emitted by cruise ships is 148 times greater than that produces by cars. Campaign group Transport & Environment said that the cruise industry generated over 500 tonnes of SOx in 2017.

The Times quotes an EU-wide research about road fatalities between 20105 and 2017. 70 percent of people who died in accidents are pedestrians (39%), cyclists (12%), or powered two-wheeler riders (19%).
