For the next 100 days, Johnson’s government will be on a war footing

Sky News’ Sam Coates gives an in-depth look at what to expect from Boris Johnson as the new prime Minister in London.

Coates writes that there is no doubting the enthusiasm amongst the membership for Theresa May’s successor, providing the new prime minister honours his commitment to leave the EU on 31 October.

The two-to-one margin of victory was pretty resounding.

Yet some who have seen the campaign closer are a little more circumspect and those immediately surrounding Mr Johnson were not averse to making jokes questioning how long he will last in Number 10.

He also writes that some senior allies aren’t hanging around for very long in the new Downing Street line-up. Adding that despite the outward show of loyalty, he needs to show even more ways of appealing to different factions to get him through the next 100 days to 31 October.
