Greek unemployment drops to 10.8% in May

June 30 (Reuters) – Greece’s jobless rate stood at 10.8% in May, down from an upwardly revised 11.3% in April, data from statistics service ELSTAT showed on Friday.

Seasonally adjusted data showed 506,184 people were officially unemployed.

Unemployment impacted women more than men, at the rates of 14.4% and 7.9%, respectively.

The jobless rate for young people aged 15 to 24 years dropped to 24.0% in May from 32.7% in the same month in 2022, ELSTAT said.
