Millions in healthcare guarantees forgone by government: The Headlines – Malta Today

Malta Today reports that former Minister Konrad Mizzi had waived a €9 million ‘performance guarantee’ from Steward Healthcare when the US group took over the hospitals’ concession. VGH, before it, had failed to pay the bank guarantee when it was originally awarded the deal.

The paper carries an interview with former OPM employee Neville Gafa’ who said he was at the centre of an unofficial migration pact between the Malta and Libya. Gafa’ used to alert the Libyan coastguard of movements at sea detected by the Armed Forces of Malta.
