Rallye Sirocco, a nonprofit regularity rally with a humanitarian mission, will hold its first edition Dec. 18-23 in Morocco. The event is limited to 15 crews, or 30 participants, and will cover 1,035 kilometers (about 643 miles) from Marrakech to the edge of the Sahara.
Part of the participation fees will fund initiatives for 323 students in two Moroccan communities, organizers said.
A test of precision, not speed
In a regularity rally, crews must keep to set average speeds and reach checkpoints at scheduled times rather than race for outright speed. The inaugural edition will have four stages over six days. It is open to entrants without a motor racing competition license.
Organizers said the event rewards precision, consistency and teamwork in varied conditions.
The route
The rally starts in Marrakech and crosses the High Atlas mountains toward Ouarzazate, which organizers describe as the gateway to the desert. Crews then continue to M’Hamid El Ghizlane, at the edge of the Saharan dunes, before heading north through Zagora and the Drâa Valley, one of the world’s largest oases.
The route then passes through Foum El Oued and Taznakht, known for Berber crafts, and ends at the Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
What entrants receive
Each crew will receive an all-inclusive package that covers:
an official MG ZS Hybrid+ vehicle
fuel
accommodation
meals
cultural activities
official clothing
event logistics
Crew tracking and safety support will use Sirocco Tracker, built on Teltonika hardware. A companion tool, Sirocco Map, is also part of the event’s digital offering. Timing, regularity calculations and real-time standings run on a separate regularity system.
Support for students
The humanitarian initiatives target 323 students: 112 in M’Hamid El Ghizlane and 211 in Aït Ben Haddou. Organizers said they aim to promote responsible tourism, showcase the regions visited and pair a passion for motoring with concrete support for students in the two communities.
Organizers and partners
Two nonprofit associations are organizing the rally: ASACM and the Association de la Jeunesse Marocaine en France (AJMF). MG is the title partner. The Fédération Marocaine des Véhicules Anciens (Moroccan Federation of Vintage Vehicles) and the Association de la Jeunesse Marocaine à Toulouse (AJMT) support the event.
