The Police issued a statement stating that former Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit and Economic Crimes Unit officer Jonathan Ferris was never threatened with arrest. Ferris lawyers published the warrant notice in response.
The Times of Malta leads with comments from Dutch MEP Sophie in’t Veld who said that the unresolved murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia is a “clear signal to journalists they are under threat because people who kill them may go unpunished.” The Dutch MEP said the authorities needed to send a clear message that Ms Caruana Galizia’s murderers could not remain unpunished.
Four women working in brothels disguised as massage parlours had paid sex with between five and 12 men each on any given day, a court heard on Friday in a case that exposed the complex workings of Malta’s underground sex trade. The story is reported with prominence also on today L-Orizzont’s front page.

Gusty winds continue to drive a wildfire through the Cleveland National Forest south of Los Angeles and crews are still struggling to keep the flames away from homes. Fire officials say the blaze near homes in the hills above Lake Elsinore has grown to nearly 30 square miles (77 square kilometers) after nearly doubling in size overnight.
