The Independent reports on the publication of the annual Corruption Perceptions Index by Transparency International which warns that Malta’s democracy is being undermined and weakened by lack of political integrity.
The paper also speaks to lawyer Roberto Montalto about the two-thirds majority method to appoint a new Police Commissioner proposed by the opposition. Montalto said that the system ‘looks good on paper’ but doubts whether it would work in Malta’s circumstances.
